This Privacy Policy explains how The Diocese of Broken Bay Office for Communications in partnership with Evangelisation Broken Bay (“we”) collect, use, and disclose information from users of our Broken Bay World Youth Day (“Official Magnify App”) mobile app (the “App”). By using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this policy.

We may also setup your account for you and provide you with the ability to reset your password and manage your user profile, including your display name and your profile picture.
Application Usage and Permissions
The WYD app is primarily a publication of the itinerary, Saint’s information, historical information, maps, local language phrasebook, prayer information, liturgy information and information about leaders and the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay. This makes the app primarily a read-only app.
There are some instances when the app requires the user to grant permission to their personal data.
User files: we require permission from the user if the user chooses to upload files from their device, such as images and audio files.
Device camera: we require permission from the user if the user chooses to use their camera to take pictures and upload them through the app.
Device microphone: we require permission from the user if the user chooses to use their microphone to upload audio recordings of their voice.
Device location: we require permission from the user if the user chooses to show their location on maps including itinerary maps, and for the app to provide real-time directions to the user.
Device network connection: we may require permission from the user to access information regarding their network connection, such as whether the connection is over a cellular connection or over WiFi, to improve the user experience of the app.
Notifications: we require permission from the user for the user to receive notifications through the app.
Voluntary Uploads of Content
The App allows you to upload photos, text, videos, and sound recordings, which are stored on our servers. You have the option to choose whether to share this content with us for the purpose of documenting the journey to World Youth Day 2023.
